Nikau Coopworth
Nikau Coopworth, a sheep breeding operation producing stud rams, is located in the Waikaretu valley, half way between Raglan and Port Waikato on New Zealand’s west coast. The flock was established by Jack Woodward in the 1950’s and then run for 35 years by Clive Woodward and his wife Susan.
Clive and Sue were progressive farmers with a passion for the Coopworth breed and a real vision for their place in the future of the New Zealand sheep industry. A rigorous selection process and the use of modern technology to assess heritable traits have resulted in a flock producing some of the top rams in New Zealand. Since 2009 Kate Broadbent has owned and managed the Nikau stud with the same forward thinking philosophy.
